Therefore we take as much time as necessary to fully address your needs. Determining your glasses or contact lenses prescription is only one part of your eye examination. We also check your eyes for any condition that may affect your vision either now or in the future.

At Precise vision we take great pride in providing thorough and comprehensive eye examinations using the latest technology. Our focus is on quality eyecare, not quantity. Our first priority is to ensure that your eyes stay healthy through preventative eyecare. We take the time to listen to your needs and treat each person as an individual with your unique needs.
We have the set up, the expertise and a comprehensive list of sophisticated diagnostic equipment to achieve this goal. Equipment such as the Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT), a revolutionary technology that is able to see deep inside and behind the eye to detect Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma and Diabetic eye disease much earlier. Like any condition, the earlier the diagnosis the easier the treatment.
Our Zeiss Visual Fields analyser also allows early diagnosis of Glaucoma.

Once we have made sure your eyes are healthy, we then proceed to determine your prescription, starting with the Autorefractor, a special machine that automatically determines your glasses prescription within seconds and with a high degree of accuracy. This makes the eye examination stress free as you don't get confused deciding between different lenses. It is useful for everyone, but particularly for the elderly or those patients who have difficulty in communication eg. children, or people with English as a second language.

Regular eye examinations are essential for maintaining healthy eyes and clear vision. if your vision is clear and stable, an eye examination once every two years is recommended. Sometimes once every year is preferred, for example if you have diabetes. If you notice any change in your vision you should see us as soon as possible. If you have a family history of diabetes, glaucoma, or macular degenaration, regular eye examinations are even more important.  Children should have their eyes examined before they start school.
Should your eyes need further assessment, we will refer you to some of the best eye specialists here in the Illawarra or in Sydney.
Most eye examinations are bulk billed to medicare. If you have private health insurance we have the HICAPS system which enables you to claim your yearly rebate on your glasses or contact lenses instantly. You are entitled to claim your optical benefit every year.
